Complete Metabolic Assessment

Just as we all have unique fingerprints we also have unique metabolisms. We all respond to diet and exercise differently. It is important that we have a clear understanding of our own metabolism to better design and prescribe effective nutrition and exercise programs. Your metabolic fingerprint describes your metabolism both during rest and exercise. Your resting metabolic rate describes how many calories you burn at rest. Your exercising metabolism describes how many calories you burn during exercise, and what percent of those calories are from fat and carbohydrates. There are several variables that affect our metabolism these include gender, age, body composition, fitness level, daily activities, and the thermogenic effect of food.
Our metabolic fingerprinting assessment includes both our resting metabolic rate test and sub-maximal VO2 exercise test. Your test results can then be used for prescribing and tailoring nutrition and exercise programs that are specific to your unique metabolism.
It is recommended to reschedule assessments every two months. As weight loss occurs resting metabolism slows down, and as fitness levels improve training heart zones need to be re-established. This is the largest reason why many dieters hit a weight loss plateau and athletes hit performance plateaus. Identifying metabolic changes helps in readjusting caloric intake and exercise prescription to further progress.
